About me

Me

I’m lousy at describing myself, which you easily can notice since I start off with ”I’m lousy at describing myself”, but here it goes. ”Name?” – Jonas Bengtsson, ”A/S/L?” – 25/male/Sweden. Ok, that wasn’t so hard, now was it?

I work as a programmer, but programming is more than a 9 to 5 interest to me, it’s more of a passion. I get excited all the time about all the great stuff that’s out there, and stuff that could or ought to be out there. During my university studies I bumped into this new thing called ”agile software development”, XP, Scrum and the ilk, and it’s still a fascinating topic and something I believe firmly in. Other exciting stuff include dynamic languages (like Python and Ruby), web development, mobility and UI frameworks (I work with a UI framework for mobile phones).

Other technological topics that spike my interest are the Internets, social software, digital identity, location-based services, blogging, podcasting, long tail, mobility, gadgetry etcetera. But hey, if you look around you’ll probably notice some of that.

If I haven’t bored you already, I should probably add that I have other interests too. Oh, there are loads of stuff that draw my attention but not so much I regularly spend time doing. Twice a week I’m ju-jitsuing and I’ve done that for a little more than two years now. I’m not athletic but it’s fun to get some exercise. Another interest I’ve picked up this year is photographing, mainly nature photgraphing, it’s interesting and I have a lot to learn. I also try to get out on my mountain bike as much as possible weather willing.

About andthennothing.net

This is my personal site so you can consider everything on it as my own opinion, and not the opinion of my former, current, or future employer. Not that I think that anyone would think otherwise, but it doesn’t hurt to play it safe once in a while.

I started a blog called # blog back in May of 2002, but in October of 2005 I migrated to andthennothing.net and never looked back.

This site runs on Ruby on Rails, with Typo as the blog engine, and is hosted by TextDrive.

You can of course subscribe to this blog by, using any of the syndication options: RSS (entries, comments) and Atom (entries, comments).
